Isn't the MRP already inside my ERP enough?
An ERP MRP run tells you the quantity and rough date to make or buy, which is useful. What most ERP MRP modules do not do well is load each machine on its real cycle and setting time, show which work centre is overloaded, and let a PPC engineer re-sequence work on a Gantt board to protect a customer release. We plan in Excel today. Why should we change?
